The Exjet Story

Founded in 1986 by Colin and Rachael Dowell, Exjet began as part of a national franchise before evolving into a fully independent family business. From its early roots, the company has grown steadily, expanding into drainage surveying, civil engineering, and large-diameter sewer cleaning. Over the years, Exjet has delivered specialist services to clients such as the Ministry of Defence, regional water authorities, and leading infrastructure contractors across the UK.

In 1998, Robin Dowell joined the business, gaining hands-on experience in every area of operations. Over nearly two decades, he worked his way through the company, building a deep understanding of the industry and the needs of its clients. In 2016, following the retirement of the founders, Robin was appointed Managing Director, ushering in a new phase of growth and innovation.

Under his leadership, Exjet has been recognised with multiple national awards from the UKSTT for technical excellence and innovation — a testament to the company’s commitment to delivering cutting-edge, reliable solutions.
